conversations with Jay - fun free and fearless

Every respectable woman born in this era knows that the best accessory to have is a GAY of her very own. There is something about gay men that is just refreshing. They always seem to know what to say when you having a hard time, will go shopping with you and out drink you every day of the week. They are the husband you will never have, they change the light bulb, take your car in for a service and understand what you talking about when you talk about Kim Kardashian. They are fun, free and fearless, I am drawn to them, they live life at full blast and I admire that courage.

Justice aka Jay, my #gayhusband is all that and more. He is smart, pragmatic, mature, hilarious and grounded. There is never a dull moment when I am with him. We have the best conversations about life and love and growth. He always seems to know how to calm my neurotic, obsessive, paranoid ass down. He is never unkind and always tries to have my back even when he doesn’t understand why I feel what I feel. I could never do life without him, I wouldn’t know where to start. He is my support.

Justice and I share a lot of the same values and ambitions but we do not agree on everything. Our approach to life is very different. He is very "black and white” and in my world the grey comes in different shades. I believe that because humans are motivated and stirred by different elements of who we are we tend to be ambiguous, Justice does not agree with this at all he believes it either is or it is not. And I love that about him, I love his strait forward no nonsense approach to life even though I know I could never live it (can’t do without drama).

He has taught me that keeping parts of who you are hidden does not equate to being unauthentic but rather means you keep some of you, the most intimate parts reserved for the people that have earned that kind of intimacy. this is a lesson i shall always hold dear.
